Topp and People People are proud to announce a Design & Innovation collaboration.

By combining our skills in Digital Design and Industrial Design with years of experience working with new technology, software platforms, product ecosystems and cloud services we provide a unique design offering as a team. We rethink existing products, design new experiences and always focus on creating new value that makes an actual impact for our clients. We design for the new.

In recent years, we’ve seen many new digital technologies emerge and reach maturity. People do online banking, enrich their life through social networks and drive to their next destination with the help of turn-by-turn navigation – to mention a few. This may look like separate technology advancements but are in fact part of a much bigger change, a paradigm shift that radically changes what a product is.

As a result, products can no longer be defined independently from these new technologies. The perception of what should be physical, digital or in the cloud is getting challenged. Integrating the different pieces to a coherent product presents brand new design problems but also new opportunities to innovate and change the game.

We don’t believe the current state of design has caught up with this shift. Still, online experiences are designed separate from physical experiences. Still, industrial designers are working disconnected from UI designers. We believe that good design today needs a holistic approach, where the user experience is designed as a whole, rather than as individual pieces.

It is easy to get lost when the world is shifting. It’s easy to continue a proven way of working, to get stuck with legacy solutions or to just mash-up existing and hot technology without actually adding any new value. Paradigm shifts are a killer of slow moving companies or entire markets. Successfully navigating this new space, creating something that actually brings user value, is difficult and often requires an outside view.
